BFMD Episode 125 – We’re Gonna Be Fine

Summary

After a split in the two game series with Boston the Toronto Blue Jays return to Florida to take on the Rays at the Trop. Justin and Patrick break down the games at Fenway, dive into injury news, the A’s win streak, and finally a preview of the Tampa Bay series. 

George Springer and Teoscar Hernandez should be back within a few days. Vladdy leads MLB in OBP, and Steven Matz looks to keep his stellar start going against Tyler Glasnow on Friday. 

There is a lot of negativity on Blue Jays Twitter right now and we want to remind you that there are 144 games left this season.

BFMD Episode 123 – Bo Knows Bombs

Summary

After Bo Bichette’s heroics got the Blue Jays back to .500 Justin and Patrick sat down to discuss the team’s current position. 

The guys talked about the players who have impressed and disappointed them so far, and broke down the battle for bench positions and playing time. 

Teoscar Hernandez tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed on the 10-Day IL along with Julian Merryweather. Nate Pearson, George Springer and Thomas Hatch are rehabbing and Robbie Ray made his season debut. 

The Jays are off to Kansas City and Patrick provides a preview of the pitching matchups. That TBD guy sounds pretty elite. 0.00 ERA. Wow.

Steven Matz was electric. Julian Merryweather is apparently the closer now, Jordan Romano and Ryan Borucki look scary good, and Rafael Dolis needs to get his sinker over for strikes. 

Ryu was great on Opening day, Stripling got away with mistakes, and T.J. Zeuch earned another turn. 

On offense, Vladdy and Grich Daddy are off to hot starts while Bo and Cavan are starting to heat up. Marcus Semien has been excellent with the bat and the glove and George Springer should be ready for the Home Opener! 

The guys also talk All Star Game, Reds vs Cardinals, Yadi a Hall of Famer, and Lindor’s big extension.

T.J. Zeuch has a power sinker, Hyun-Jin Ryu is in mid-season form and the bullpen is looking like a huge strength.

Summary

With less than three weeks to go until Opening Day the action is starting to heat up in Florida. Young prospects Alek Manoah and Simeon Woods Richardson continue to impress with Manoah striking out 7 Yankees in his start. 

Alejandro Kirk is smashing baseballs while Robbie Ray and Steven Matz are raising confidence levels in the rotation.
