BFMD Episode 186 – Time to Change the Lineup?

Summary

After two tough games in the Bronx, the Jays head to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Rays for the first time this season. 

Hyun-jin Ryu will return on Saturday to join the rotation, with Kevin Gausman and Alek Manoah starting Friday and Sunday. 

The guys discuss lineup configurations and how they would change the batting order if given the chance. Could Espinal bat 2nd? Where would you stick Bo?

BFMD Episode 184 – Springer & Romano Save Series Win

Summary

Bo Bichette is heating up at the right time because hits are at a premium for the Toronto Blue Jays these days. 

The Jays were able to escape with a series win on the strength of a HR from Bo and a great catch by George Springer. The Jays prepare to welcome to red hot Yankees to Toronto before heading out to Cleveland later in the week.

BFMD Episode 183 – Bo Blast & Springer Dinger Beat Red Sox

Summary

The Toronto Blue Jays have not lost a series so far in 2021. The bats have yet to heat up but they are finding ways to win games with great pitching and timely home runs.

Summary

Behind a stellar series from Santiago Espinal, and pitching from Alek Manoah and the bullpen the Toronto Blue Jays were able to keep the Houston Astros on the launchpad after a series win. 

What’s going on with Bo Bichette? Justin and Patrick dive into the numbers to see if they can solve the puzzling start he’s had. 

Also on the show: Vladdy hit a bundle of singles, Zack Collins sent a baseball to the moon, and Lourdes Gurriel had an odyssey in left field. 

After a 4-2 road trip the Jays return to Toronto for 4 games against the Boston Red Sox. We will finally find out with Sox players are not vaccinated and I guarantee that they will be ridiculed!

BFMD Episode 181 – Gausman Baffles Boston

Summary

Behind strong pitching from Kevin Gausman, the Toronto Blue Jays were able to take two of three games at Fenway Park. 

The Jays also got a quality start from Jose Berrios, and a solid outing from Yusei Kikuchi as the rotation attempts to stabilize. 

The Jays head to Houston for the weekend and will meet up with Justin Verlander and the Astros for three games.

BFMD Episode 175 – Jays Trade for Chapman, Don’t Sign Freeman

Summary

Matt Chapman is a Toronto Blue Jay! The team traded 4 prospects including Kevin Smith and Gunnar Hoglund to Oakland for the platinum glove third baseman. This gives Toronto an elite defender and adds another 25+ HR hitter to the already deep lineup. 

Justin and Patrick break down the trade and discuss the benefits of having a vacuum cleaner at the hot corner in the AL East. 

The Jays did miss out on Freddie Freeman, who signed with the Dodgers. Watch out for that lineup! Kris Bryant went to the Rockies and Matt Olson was dealt to Atlanta where he signed a long term extension.
